Helderman founded Buffalo 8 in 2010 as an undergrad student and has led the company as CEO as it has premiered projects at Sundance, SXSW, and Berlin, as well as produced the Netflix original film Rodney King directed by Spike Lee and the Joe Berlinger directed Netflix global hit The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes.
In 2013, Helderman co-founded BondIt Media Capital and has led the company as CEO in the deployment of over $500M of capital into 500+ film, television, live entertainment, and music projects – while raising $30M of equity and debt for a partial sale to Accord Financial (TSX: ACD) in addition to expanding the company’s credit facility to $100M from hedge fund Keystone National Group.
In 2017, Helderman co-managed the acquisition of 30 year old entertainment payroll firm, ABS Entertainment Payroll, and today serves as an Executive Director, partner, and Board Member after having successfully steered the majority sale of the business to a leading private equity buyer.
Helderman has been featured as a TED speaker, profiled in the NY Times, and is currently a YPO member.
